Instrumentalists Who Sing!

We really lucked out tonight and everyone was availble to come in studio so this JRT is alsop a concert!  Each of these three musicians is sought after for their playing abilities but they are also incredible vocalists and composers!

Dave Tull – Drums, Vocals

When not leading his own trio, Dave is one of the busiest drummers on the scene. In 2016 Dave became the drummer for Barbra Streisand and has played five tours with Streisand including Madison Square Garden in July 2019, and on Barbra’s GRAMMY NOMINATED live Netflix concert video, “Barbra – “The Music..The Mem’ries..The Magic!”. Dave toured from 2000-2010 as drummer and lead vocalist for Chuck Mangione. Dave is the drummer on Pixar’s popular series, “Forky Asks A Question” and Disney’s “Monsters At Work”.

Lyman Medeiros – Bass, Vocals

Lyman Medeiros has worked with legendary artists such as Diane Schuur, Alex Acuna, Eric Marienthal, Mary Clayton, Lew Soloff, Byron Stripling, Jim Rotondi, Joe Magnarelli, Kenny Rankin and Plas Johnson to name a few. In 2001 he joined the band of Concord Recording Artist Steve Tyrell and has been performing with the popular vocalist ever since. In 2003 he toured with popular vocalist Michael Buble and appears on his live CD/DVD Come Fly With Me. He has been seen by millions performing on television programs such as The Tonight Show, Today, Late Night With David Letterman, The Talk, and Dateline NBC.

John Proulx – Keyboards, Vocals

John Proulx (pronounced “Proo”) is an LA-based jazz vocalist, pianist, composer, educator, and recording artist. His latest CD, “Say It”, on the ArtistShare label, features Chuck Berghofer, Joe LaBarbera, Larry Koonse, Bob Sheppard, Billy Hulting, and a duet with Melissa Manchester. It also showcases three string quartet arrangements by pianist and arranger, Alan Broadbent. In addition to touring with his own trio, John has performed with the likes of Anita O’Day, Natalie Cole, Melissa Manchester, and Marian McPartland.

As a composer, John has co-written songs that have been recorded by many notable singers. Jazz legend, Nancy Wilson, recorded “These Golden Years”, a song
that John co-wrote with lyricist D. Channsin Berry, for her 2006 Grammy-winning CD, “Turned to Blue”. Most recently, John co-wrote a song called “Stained Glass” with Melissa Manchester for his new album, “Say It”. John and Melissa also cowrote a song called “Big Light” for her 20th studio album, “You Gotta Love The Life”, featuring a duet with Melissa and Al Jarreau.
